There is no single regulation that governs a veterinary Prescription Exchange Service (PES). VetScript is built to support the prescribing and dispensing requirements that do apply, and to align with recognised digital health standards.
VetScript aligns with the Australian Digital Health Agency (ADHA) Electronic Prescribing Conformance, including its requirements for the functionality a National Prescription Delivery Service must meet.
VetScript securely records and transmits all of the data elements a prescription must contain to satisfy the relevant jurisdictions, veterinary boards, medicines and poisons legislation, and health department requirements.
Responsibility for compliant prescribing stays with the veterinarian. VetScript supports compliance by capturing and transmitting the right information securely, but it does not police or enforce it. You remain responsible for ensuring your prescribing meets the requirements of your governing body and regulator.
